Episode #163 – David Cassidy EXCLUSIVE!

In the wake of the passing of pop icon David Cassidy, Tony and Gary talk to David’s longtime producer, arranger, keyboardist, and friend, Craig Snider, about what it was like to work with and tour with David. He also provides insight into what David’s final days were like.

PLUS: Craig shares an EXCLUSIVE, NEVER-BEFORE-HEARD piece of music from David Cassidy’s final recording sessions and it is unlike ANYTHING you’ve heard David do before! It’s great, and you will ONLY hear it here!

ALSO: Highlights from Tony and Gary’s emotional and revealing conversation with David, from 2014. It is truly touching.

And finally: Gary’s hotel room debacle, and a quick chat with jazz singer (and wife of Gary) Sarah Partridge, about what could be a very exciting week for her!

This episode is dedicated, with love, to David Cassidy and his family.

  1. THAT WAS REMARKABLE AND TRULY REVELATORY. THANK YOU SO MUCH. DAVID CASSIDY WAS (HOW I HATE TO USE THE PAST TENSE) SUCH A MULTI-FACETED MUSICIAN AND PERSON WHOM I HAD TO PLEASURE OF MEETING ON MANY OCCASIONS. HE STRUCK ME AS VERY CLEVER, WITTY, SENSITIVE AND AFFECTIONATE MAN. A HUGELY TALENTED SINGER, ACTOR, PRODUCER, HORSE-BREEDER AND RACER, HUMANITARIAN, ECO-WARRIOR, LIGHT-BRINGER, GOOD, KIND MAN, WHO WORE HIMSELF INTO THE GROUND TO PLEASE PEOPLE. EVEN IF THAT WAS FRUSTRATING TO HIM OFTEN. DAVID WAS A FAMILY MAN AT HEART, WHO VALUED LOVE OVER AND ABOVE ANY OF THE RUBBISH HE HAD TO ENDURE THROUGHOUT HIS INCREDIBLE LIFE. ALTHOUGH HE FREELY ADMITTED HAVING FEET OF CLAY, HE WAS NONETHELESS MY HERO AND THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MAN I EVER MET. HE WAS ALWAYS RESPECTFUL AND WARM TOWARDS ME. I WILL LOVE HIM AND RESPECT HIM THROUGHOUT ALL ETERNITY. REST IN PEACE DAVID – YOUR WORK HER IS COMPLETED. SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE.

  2. Amazing! What an unexpected treat this was to hear today. I love David Cassidy, he had the most unique singing voice, like no one else. I’ve been a fan of his for over 45 years, and it’s really heartbreaking to know how much he seemed to suffer during the last few years of his life. He had an enormous impact on my generation, was admired my people around the world, but it wasn’t until his death that I saw the outpouring of respect that I wished David had known while he was alive. He will be missed. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

  3. Thank you so much for sharing. I live in Perth Western Australia and it is hard to get anything David here. My heart is broken like so many. May David find the peace that he so wanted. Julie.

  4. Huge fan of David Cassidy since 1970 .
I’m devastated beyond belief at the loss of David. Hope Craig releases his recent music.
    God bless David’s soul

  5. I’d never heard about ya’lls show before today but, I must say I very much enjoyed it. Especially, of course, the 2nd half that was about David Cassidy. I was thoroughly disappointed when the show cut off before getting to hear the new song of David’s! I tried several times but it cut off each time right at the beginning of the song. I’m not sure if that was intentional or not but, it made me sad that I will NOT be able to hear it. Other than that, it was a great show. I’ll be listening again!

  6. This was an amazing interview. It must have been difficult for Craig….. But David always seemed to be so open… So why stop now. A beautiful talented artist who will be greatly missed. Thank you
